![]() ![]() Friday is significant because it recalls Good Friday when Christ took on the passion and laid down His life for the many. Our blessed Lord commanded that all who wish to take up the devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus go to Confession and receive Holy Communion often, especially on the First Friday of each Month. "I set neither limit nor measure to My gifts of grace for those who seek them in My Heart!" Last but not least, the rays surrounding this precious Heart signify the great graces and blessings which emanate from devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus originated the moment when that Divine Heart was pierced by the lance, the wound remaining forever more upon His Heart. It reminds us particularly of His bitter Passion and Death. The Heart of Jesus surmounted by a cross is further testimony of Our Lord's Love for us. The crown of thorn encircling the Heart of Jesus typifies the injury inflicted upon It by the ingratitude wherewith men requite His love. The flames bursting forth and enveloping It show the vehement love wherewith It has loved and continually loves us. "Behold this Heart that has loved men so much!"Ī heart on fire for love of all mankind was the imagery demanded by Our Lord. He then attached many graces and blessings to the veneration of His adorable Sacred Heart. In order to better realize the infinite love of the Son of God, as manifested in the incarnation, in His Passion and in the adorable Sacrament of the Altar, we needed a visible representation of this love. It was during the many visitations that Christ explained the devotion to the Sacred Heart and how He wanted people to practice it. ![]() This visitation was the spark for the devotion of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1672 a young girl from France, now known as Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, was visited by Our Lord in such a special and profound way that would transform the world. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. ![]() ġ4 And this is h the confidence that we have toward him, that i if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1Ģ2 and m whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and n do what pleases him. ġ7 z Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from a the Father of lights, b with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 6 But m let him ask in faith, n with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like o a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. ĥ j If any of you lacks wisdom, k let him ask God, l who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. s Ask, and you will receive, t that your joy may be full. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name.
